Hootenanny Hoedown 2013
We would like to invite you to the family farm the weekend of Oct. 12th, 2013. We are going to have a bunch of family and friends down to celebrate the coming of fall in Missouri (grandpa's 94th too)!
The cabin is near the town of Bay which is about 30 min from the town of Hermann, MO. Hermann has a rocking Oktoberfest that will be in full swing the weekend of the 12th. Local German wineries feature bands, food, and dancing, and the streets are full of college kids and city folk on holiday.
Oktoberfest is not the real draw, though. We are going to have a big potluck dinner + pig roast on Saturday from 2 - 6pm (officially at 4pm) followed by a wonderful Kansas City band "tha Rythmia" performing ragtime, folk and fiddle toons! We will have breakfast the following morning for anyone who wishes to camp or bargain for one of the beds. Additionally, there are 100 acres of woods for hiking, canoes and rowboats in the lake, fishing, and we'll cap it off with a big bonfire!
Keep in mind it might be chilly, although last year it was beautiful.
